Ride Districts 1 and 3

I’ve been working on this project for a while, hoping to encourage Active Transportation Commissioners, N Natomas residents and all interested bike riders to actively learn more about cycling infrastructure. Mellissa and Anya from Jibe were especially supportive. We met at Orange Theory at the corner of Arena Blvd and Stemmler Dr, the border between City of Sacramento Districts 1 and 3. Special thanks to Ron Brasel, ATCommissioner from District 8, for participating. *A note about the first picture. The woman on the left, facing left, in the neon yellow jacket, is Marsha, a friend of Cheryl’s, who lives in Ohio. We first met on the bike and barge trip in the Netherlands in 2022. So much fun to see her again.

To my great surprise, 40 people showed up. A very good turnout.

Heading east on Del Paso Rd.

On Arena Blvd at the top of the overpass over I-5. We prepared to descend as a total group – safety in numbers. Standing to the left is Pierson from SABA, a great help on a large group ride.

On E Commerce approaching Del Paso Rd:

At the site of the future Bike Campus which Jibe hopes to complete at some point in the future.

Jackrabbit Trail and Club Center Dr – the most troublesome crossing in N Natomas because there’s no legal way to cross Club Center to continue on the trail.

Almost finished. Riding along I-80, headed to the bike/ped bridge near Peregrine Park.

Thank you Brenda and Jonathan for contributing many of the above pictures.
