This was a very early and cold morning. Ione is about a 2-hour drive from E Nicolaus, especially when stopping in downtown Sacramento to pick up LCI Elle and Miha (WALKSacramento). We arrived early to set up the course and got the see the excellent Safety Patrol at work helping students getting to class on time every morning
The local fire department demonstrated the importance of wearing a bicycle helmet by doing a a melon drop.
Every student who brought a bicycle to school came to the bike rodeo, all others went to learning stations for nutrition and pedestrian safety.
