September was just too busy to celebrate three birthdays: Justin, Jennifer, and me. Today we all got together for brunch at Justin’s.

Breathe Bike Trek
Originally scheduled for mid-September but postponed because of the Mosquito Fire, the annual Breathe Bike Trek happened this morning. Quite a few people couldn’t make it today which left a last-minute opportunity for Leo to ride. The Good Jibes team: Mellissa, Leo and I rode the 34-mile medium route together which was good because it was easy to miss a turn and then Mellissa got a flat tire about 2 miles from the end. I rode back to the start and drove back to pick her up.

Big applause to Mellissa who rode a regular bike and climbed 1500+ feet today in the foothills around Loomis, Newcastle and Penryn. Leo and I rode e-bikes .. climbing was not a problem.

After Brenda left the Pedal Up Natomas class at 11-ish, she took advantage of Saddle Up Saturday. She rode to Panera, had lunch, and will receive a $15 gift card to Raley’s/Bel Air grocery stores.
Barbara and Cheryl rode to Dave’s Market in W Sacramento and enjoyed just-fried doughnuts.

Monday October 10. After a stop at Kaiser, I rode with Barbara and Kathy to Scott’s before heading back.

Grandparents Day
at St Ignatius.
After the welcome reception, the classes came in one by one and students went to find their grandparents. I happened to be sitting with Zane’s grandparents, one of Carson’s good friends.
Then we all went to mass. Avery wasn’t with us because the 5th grade was in charge of the service. Leo, Jackson, Sophia, me, Carson. Hudson and his grandma Margaret (Jackson’s grandmother also) sat with us.
After mass, we visited every classroom and the upper science lab
Volleyball
I picked up Sophia Avery and Carson after school. One of Carson’s favorite games is Memory..
.. because he always beats me. His right hand is thumbs down over my very short stack.
Later, we all went to Sophia’s volleyball game at SI.

this man was my 7th grade boyfriend – Dennis Questa, Rio Linda Jr High. What fun today to catch up over lunch at Auburn Alehouse.
The Oktoberfest beer was great, so was the food!
Pedal Up Natomas
Today was our fourth and final class. This group of 10 women was so fantastic to work with. And 9 of them joined Arlete’s BIG – they want to continue riding!!

Thank you Barbara for riding to Discovery Park and volunteering for SABA on Thursday. Aftershock is a huge rock concert with (of course) horrible parking. SABA will provide free bike valet for hundreds of bikes over the next 4 days.

Justin and I drove to Marysville and met Tim and Maria for lunch at Stassi’s – truly an iconic dive bar. Surprise – Dave Venable was there.
Too much fun, we had a great time.
