Sophia and Avery

I watched Sophia and Avery Monday and Wednesday after school. Sophia and her friends have been reading this series of books.
2836 pages since Thanksgiving. The book to the right is the first in the companion series.

TGIF

at the Four Seasons lodge.
A smaller group than some Fridays. TGIFs are the 1st and 3rd Fridays of every month. BYOB and a dish to share.
The Crete Island Lane table:
Plus, Felicia (orange sweater) who lives nearby – her first TGIF since moving here two years ago! This was just my second TGIF. We helped each other get there tonight!

Sophia and Avery

Sophia has a new room color – Brittany Blue – that she picked out. She explained how her mom taught her to choose a shade or two lighter than what you actually want. This photo does not do justice to the actual color.
Avery and I made Candied Walnuts.

Wild card playoffs

This was the first of two perfect football weekends. Two games each day. The last game followed by the Golden Globes. And it’s cold (for California) and raining. Time to stay home, cook something good, and …

(Halftime, Colts 21, Texans 0. Beef short ribs braised and ready to go in the oven for 3+ hours. The Colts won.

By the next halftime, Seahawks 6, Cowboys 10. The ribs are out of the oven. The Cowboys won and I had a great meal.)

… sew! Of course. This WIP is at least 15 years old, now completed! There is hope.

Happy New Year from the Sewing Cave

It’s been a wonderfully less-busy week. Time to walk more, eat less, and dig out some old projects from the WIPs box. WIPs = works in progress … or, all those long-stored, partially-completed or still-in-original-packaging projects that a person can’t seem to throw away, give away, and finish. A conundrum.

This one was a gift, only a couple of years in storage:

I bought this in Deer Lodge MT last summer when I visited Phyllis. Ready for 2019, 11 1/2 months early!
