The bike-building room. 25 kids come in the morning, 25 come after lunch. Two kids from Project Ride Smart at Natomas Park Elementary got bikes. It was so good to see them again. The staff at North Natomas Transportation Management Association:I set up the obstacle course, the last step of the whole process. There were three great volunteers, Cari, Main, and Joseph and a fellow LCI, Dan Allison. The news media was also on hand. This is such a great community event. Thanks to all the sponsors:

Basketball

While Lenin coached Sophia’s St Ignatius basketball team at Saturday’s game,I watched the boys on the sideline, except Sophia’s friend Delaney was there and she took care of Carson most of the time. After the game, I drove Sophia to a baby shower that Thais and a friend were giving for a third friend.

Bread baking day

Today I went to Phyl’s to bake two kinds of bread. The first was a basic sandwich loaf. The second was Foccacia. Phyl made the biga yesterday. Here she is doing fold-and-turn-eight-times which is done every 30 minutes 3 times.Fresh rosemary on the top. I can’t begin to tell you how good this bread is and I won’t tell you how quickly I ate one of those loaves. It was the smaller one at least.

The gap

The day after Christmas, my cold really kicked in and I stayed in bed for about 6 days. I stayed in bed. Not thinking I was getting better I went to the doctor and got antibiotics for a sinus infection (presumably). And I slowly, very slowly started to feel better. Because there was NO picture taking and nothing going on, here’s a great picture sent by Thais in early January.
