Sophia and Avery

This week, Sophia had golf camp at Teal Bend Golf Course. DSC01888She was really hoping for an opportunity to drive a golf cart, but I think this is as close as she got.DSC01892Meanwhile Avery did some butterfly stalking. Although he’s a fast runner, he’s still slower than butterflies.DSC01890

“Grandmas are squishy”

DSC01720Avery thinks my arms are soft and squishy, especially under the upper arm. As I buckled him into his car seat, he said, “Grandmas are squishy.” Yes I am. We were off to Old Sacramento today after summer school. I was curious how two passengers on a Yuba Mundo would work. IMG_0409We had to stop at the turtle place.DSC01723At Miller Park, the fire department was getting ready for drills on the water.DSC01726Everyone’s getting more comfortable on the Yuba Mundo, me too.DSC01728Back at the house, Sophia practiced selfies with my camera.DSC01738

Saturday

Sophia and Avery are taking golf lessons at William Land Park every Saturday morning.DSC01612DSC01614DSC01613Carson’s favorite part:DSC01618After golf, it’s off to gymnastics.DSC01632Meanwhile, in E Nicolaus.DSC01636This year’s batch of baby pigs arrived this week.DSC01644DSC01647Annuals planted by Justin.DSC01658

Sophia, Old Sac, and a Yuba Mundo

Today, I picked up only Sophia at Leah’s and went for a little adventure in Old Sacramento. We rented a Yuba Mundo bicycle – a great family bicycle – at Practical Cycle.IMG_0392We rode to Miller Park. Friday night with Justin

My phone rang at about 7:30 – it was Justin. “Mom, come outside. To the windmill. Bring your camera.” I love it when he says that!DSC01457DSC01462DSC01466Woodsquawk on the radio (a virtual/fantasy 3-day music festival featuring live acts from the best bands on the planet presented by The Eagle 96.7 every Memorial Day weekend), Track 7 beer in hand – what more could a working man want at the end of the week?DSC01469

Carson

Here are the many faces of youngest grandson. Getting ready to cry if I don’t pick him up quickly … but wait, sometimes those not-quite-crying sounds turn into a kind of conversation Carson has with himself.DSC01439A sweet 30-minute nap.DSC01440Awake and happy.DSC01442DSC01444This was my last Wednesday to watch Carson for a couple of hours. Thais goes back to work next week.

Carson & Sophia

While Mom went out on an errand, I happily stayed with Carson and Sophia. At 3 1/2 months, Carson is content (for a while) laying on a play mat and batting hanging objects with his hands and feet.DSC01353I’m always glad when Sophia is present because she’s so helpful. She can make Carson smile and laugh so easily.DSC01356
