Busy day. Avery played flag football at Jesuit HS:

Carson played basketball at El Camino HS:

Sophia played 3 volleyball games at @the Grounds in Roseville (part of a 3-day tournament). The Roebbelen Center has 24 indoor volleyball courts. Sophia’s team won their division on Monday.

Meanwhile Avery had a basketball game in the late afternoon. Three kids who love a variety of sports keep their parents hopping.

My plane landed in the early afternoon, Adrienne picked me up, I unpacked and got ready for a 4 pm basketball game at St Ignatius. Sophia made this basket:

Phyllis’ oldest son, Greg, married Karen in Sacramento in October. In December they moved to Deer Lodge. They arrived about two weeks ahead of their furniture and have been staying with Phyl and Dave.

We’ve been enjoying some of our favorite recipes from long ago. Phil made a delicious chicken-rice casserole. Yesterday, I made a prosciutto-provolone stuffed focaccia to go with her chicken vegetable supper soup. Today we made appetizers for our traditional movies and champagne New Year’s Eve. Charcuterie board, sausage in crescent rolls, bacon-wrapped pineapple, and salmon mousse cups:

We also watched the recently-released movie Don’t Look Up.

I should have arrived yesterday but my flight was one of the 1000 flights canceled on Monday. I was rebooked for this morning and got to Butte around noon. Dave and Phyl picked me up.

It’s cold! 9 degrees or -12 celsius. It will be all indoor activities for me.
