Social Thursday

#1 – I met Jim and Lucy at the Legion for a drink. Friends I haven’t seen in a long time began showing up.

Then, Allie showed up. She was Dave and Phyl’s neighbor when they lived in Rio Linda.

#2 – As soon as I got home I walked across the street to Lorraine’s. She was having a few neighbors over for wine and snacks.

I’m making progress. I knew the names of every person who was at Lorraine’s. OMG!

The decorations are over the top. It takes Chris all of November to decorate their house. His collections move around each year so it feels like you’re always seeing something new.

Four Seasons Craft Fair

The last two weeks have been busy with getting walnuts ready for Friday night and Saturday morning. I have 29 pounds of walnut halves, 25 8-ounce bags of candied walnuts, and 30 snack size bags of candied walnuts – 10 walnuts in each bag. I have a rectangular table this year and a great location at the back of the room – both improvements from last year.

We were able to set up early in the day. There were 25 crafters this year. Ena-Laurie had a great jewelry table next to me:

This artist had beautiful fused glass pieces:

The view from behind my table. The craft fair was part of the twice-monthly TGIF so it was very well attended.
Friday night was for residents. Saturday morning was for family and friends. I was surprised it was also well attended:

Good news: I sold ALL my inventory except for a few of the snack size bags.

Bike rides

On Tuesday I went for a 6.5-mile test ride to see how happy my ankle would be afterwards. It was ok, not great but ok. I sent out an email to the Four Season bicycle interest group. On Wednesday, Pete rode with me.

On Thursday, Jean-Marie and Ingrid rode.

Dinner for Six

The third of three Dinners for Six was at my house tonight. I made a hearty beef stew and green salad. Everyone else brought everything else.

This was a fun Four Seasons Westshore event to participate in.

Dinner for Six

This was the second of three Dinners for Six, at Peg and Linda’s house. It’s so much fun to see people’s interests reflected in their homes. Peg LOVES old movies, this room in their little theater:
A great picture with bicycles!
Dinner was delicious! The company was great!

Bike ride

The faithful three met at 8 am for an 18-mile roundtrip bike ride, all of Jack Rabbit Trail plus a detour through Regency Park.

Peter Price, Pat Johnson, Phil Jackson

Poor Pat got a flat tire almost at our farthest-away point. He was able to call one of our neighbors to come pick him up. He said it was the first flat tire ever.
