Sophia & Avery – day 1

The funny part, to me, was how the loser of a round had to pose, big sigh, oh no:

All the animals here have been rescued.
Near the bear exhibit were life-size cut outs of three bears (smallest to largest): black bear, grizzly bear, polar bear (this would become important later in the day).
Avery was great at showing me where I should be taking pictures. “Grandma, over here, the baby peacocks!”
Then we went to Parrot Planet:
After we got home, we played Bird Bingo, black-out of course.
Then the bears began creating their dens. The middle-sized bear:

At first named Bob the Black Bear, Avery changed his name to Blue Bear.
Penelope the Polar Bear was relegated the kitchen/dining area – “Penelope!” was usually called 2-3 times before she responded appropriately. Smile.

Another Little League season came to an end today. The game took place on the “big” field instead of the t-ball field.
Out to dinner
Thais and Lenin went out with friends tonight. Great idea! – I got to babysit. Lola joined us.

Tim and Mike barbecued cheeseburgers and Maria made my latest favorite meal – Cheeseburger Salad.
Along with Mike’s wife Renee, Leslie, Nate, and Liam came over also.
Liam and Papa talked on the phone, sort of.
Thank you Maria for inviting up to help with the Invitational this year. I had a GREAT time!
Day 3
Well before the 2 pm lunch, I went to do some decorating for the awards banquet. The tables only had the white table cloths on them. I taped down a couple of darts in each strip of strip to look like the stitching on a baseball. One done, 14 tables to go.

Day 2
After breakfast, the ladies played 18 holes,
followed by lunch in the Cedar Room. Then came the very popular Filly Race. The top six teams from Wednesday’s 9-hole round played. Carts raced from hole to hole and lined the greens to watch them play 6 holes. Teams are eliminated after each hole.
That evening, a group of us went to dinner at the clubhouse. Fun!!
Day 1
Early in the morning, I unpacked 120 pair of shoes from these boxes
and sorted them first by size, then by team number.

At the end of the round, it was time to pick up shoes, participate in a putting contest, 
and get a team picture taken. This year’s theme was A League of Our Own, so there was a lot of baseball attire. The group on the right worn hot dog and bun hats.
To Penn Valley
Maria invited me to help with the annual Lake Wildwood Ladies Invitational 3-day golf tournament. Maria and Dottie organized this year’s event. My job was to do all those little things to help things run smoothly. Today I stapled papers,
organized snacks in a large tub,
and visited the Cedar Room where lunch will be served on Thursday and Friday.
Later we went to dinner at Chris’ house.
