Last week, I had to go to Joann’s after Sophia’s soccer practice. I am a total weakling when it comes to buying crafts for them to make. Sophia chose a gingerbread house made from foam pieces. Avery chose sugar cookies decorated with trolls. Today after school we made the cookies.
Sophia took everything out of the box – which made 10 cookies, but there were 12 edible decals. “Grandma, can I eat one? There are two extra.” Maybe break off a piece of the decal and see how it tastes. It tasted liked frosting and one decal disappeared.
Sophia was so much help. She knew where everything was in the kitchen.
Sophia thought Avery’s choice of a craft from Joann’s was perfect because she actually got to do it.
Avery had been absorbed in the iPad, but did show up when it was time to frost and decorate the cookies.
He frosted one, decorated it, ate it, and left. Sophia described it as “One. And done.”
A very successful project.

Breakfast with Ade
at Ugly Mug in Loomis. I love our get-togethers!
From the Sewing Cave, two more travel pillows for Adrienne’s daughter and husband. After her grandchildren complained that Mom and Dad were stealing their car pillows, Ade asked me if I would make two more. The “friends” pillows was a gift from Adrienne – thank you very much.
Halloween
Lenin’s sister Leah and husband Jeff hosted the annual neighborhood party.
Applying gold glitter whenever possible:
Super Mario Baby did NOT want to wear a hat.
Carson wanted so much to touch Cameron’s pink nose.
Thais said people didn’t know who she was for Halloween. Do you? You must be very current in pop culture to know. She was a Pokemon trainer (with baby backpack).
After the party, we walked around the neighborhood to trick or treat. Actually, the adults walked and the kids ran crazily from lighted doorstep to lighted doorstep. It was hilarious to watch Avery’s dinosaur tail bouncing along behind him.
