Experimenting on Adrienne

This afternoon, I went to Ade’s house to watch the rest of Big Little Lies. I made dinner, but a recipe I’ve never made before. The ingredients were diverse and I really wasn’t sure it would be good at all. Warm ravioli salad w marinated cheese, apple, and tomato – the greens were arugala.

It was excellent! Or as Dave would say, “a big-ass E.”

What joy! I needed a small rubber scraper and, there it was, the little one Ade received in her gift bag at my 70th birthday.

Bike ride

Yesterday, Cindy went on her first ride with the Four Seasons bicycle group. We did 17 miles on Red Bud and Jack Rabbit Trails.

We always meet in front of the Lodge. The rides at this time of year must start at 8 am (if I’m leading them) when it’s in the 60s. The daily highs are in the 90s. The goal is to be back by 10:30 when temperatures are in the 80s. I am heat averse!

Aulani – day 4

In the morning, we went across the street to check out some shops. While we were having lunch, we met a Disney cast member, Michael – nice young man – among his duties is being a Japanese translator. There were LOTS of Japanese guests. He shared that there are only 300 chairs around the various pools so getting them and keeping them can get competitive. (Another factoid: Aulani staff launder 2300 beach towels every day.)
In the evening, we all went to dinner at Monkeypod.

Aulani – day 3

Stand-up paddleboard day.

Carson was so taken with Ade. First question every morning, “Where’s Adrienne?” Pronounced “ade-wee-en.”

In the evening, a luau.

Taro to pound:
Great food and entertainment.
