Finished!

More needlework therapy as I worked on the final report for Love to Ride.

Today I finished BOTH! Report submitted to Chelsea (in London btw) and t-shirt about to be worn.

“ride” was the solution because the wavy lines were not going to match up.

Community Cruise

In Marysville. Blue Zones Project Yuba Sutter organized a May is Bike Month event on Thursday. Partners and vendors arrived at about 3:15 to set up. This was a first-ever event so everyone was hoping this street would be filled with people from 4-7.

Blue Zones Project was the primary organizer of this event.

Ready to encourage people to sign up for May is Bike Month.

Rob and Hillary from SABA were there to promote a mode shift to e-bikes. They brought 4 different types of e-bikes and helmets. After signing a waiver, individuals could go for a ride around the block.

Lap It Up was a 20-minute event that turned out to be quite popular. Three laps equaled one mile.

Rise and Shine

I’m trying to woo businesses in Yuba and Sutter Counties to participate in May is Bike Month .. so I left home really early (for a retired person who likes to sleep in) to drive to Marysville to attend the Rise & Shine get-together in Marysville. This month, it was located at the CASA office – Court Appointed Special Advocates. A CASA volunteer advocates for the well-being of a child in foster care.

A few words from the host, explaining what CASA does in the Yuba Sutter area.

A raffle at the end. Winners: a bunny for the man in the blue shirt, a candle to the man in the black hat.

Then it was a drive back to Sacramento for a 10 am staff meeting.
