Varied interests

Avery played a song he learned recently, a lullaby. He can play quite a few songs, all from memory.

He’s also really good at Block Blast, a currently popular video game, and learning to speak Japanese using online resources and tutoring from a bi-lingual friend. Flag football and basketball are winding down. Next comes golf and volleyball. And finishing 7th grade.

Sports weekend

Sophia and Lenin went to Las Vegas for a volleyball tournament. Thais managed the boys’ weekend activities. Flag football in the rain which I skipped. I did go to Avery’s basketball games on Saturday and Sunday.

After a short dinner break, Avery played basketball at Jesuit. Busy sports kids!

Celebrations of Life

Saturday: my cousin Phyllis who passed away in Deer Lodge MT. Today was her celebration of life in Rio Linda where she lived for 75 of her 81 years.

Sunday: we celebrated the lives of my cousin Charles (Phyl’s brother) and his daughter Karen.

In a 7-week span, we lost three members of the Hodel family.
