This week

Ahhh, a bit of a slow down. I volunteered on Monday at where Pollyanna and Deanna were co-leading Project Ride Smart. Usually two people have to fit 30 bicycle helmets in about 30 minutes. That’s 2 minutes/student, you’ve got to be FAST! It was still fast-paced today with three of us.On Thursday, I worked helping with blacktop drills. Afterward, I took Sophia to her soccer practice.Eek – a bit of a strain on this little chair. Compact iPad game play.

Saturday night

Thais and Lenin went to dinner and I got to watch all three grandchildren – yay! Resting after sending many cars down the race track:Big mess ahead:Blowing slime bubbles and watching TV at the same time:Avery wanted to chop some walnuts but he wasn’t strong enough to press down on the plunger. “Wait Grandma, I know what to do!”And this kitchen tool was renamed the Butt Nut Chopper.

Halloween

On the way to school in the morning:Later in the evening, dinner (and World Series Game 7) at Thais and Lenin’s with family and neighbors:Kellen, next door neighbor:The crew gets ready to go trick-or-treating:Two sewers and their combined projects. Thais made Carson’s Baby Charizard and Lauren’s Wonder Woman. She is the Mother of All Dragons (Charizards). I made Sophia’s devil and Avery’s Charizard.

Costumes and soccer

On Tuesday I needed help from Thais to draw the wings for the Avery’s Charizard costume. Avery was certain he would be able to fit into Carson’s Baby Charizard costume. Wiggle carefully …Yup, he made it:
On Thursday, there was soccer practice at a field near their school.

Hodel Cousins Reunion

Five of them – Ida, John, Fred, Bill, and Ed – moved to California in the 20s/30s/40s, all started egg-producing chicken ranches in Rio Linda. Today we gathered together as many Hodel family members as we could at Phyl and Dave’s house.
