SABA Social Ride

We met, not at Chocolate Fish-the sunny side of the street, but rather in front of shady Marie’s Donuts (great donuts btw).

I rode in from N Natomas with Coletha, Diana, and BarbaraB:

Pierson welcoming everyone:

We rode to W Sacramento where the Sycamore Trail will be extended southward with a bike/pedestrian bridge over I-80.

Looking through a gap in the fence:

We crossed to the other side of I-80 using Westacre Rd. This bridge should be finished by fall 2024.

The group made their way to the Clark Branch Trail then to Lenise’s Cafe. The temperatures were climbing so we broke off early to head back to N Natomas. A very good 32-mile ride for BarbaraB and me.

Ride with Gina

Our second annual ride with Gina who lives in Folsom.

Jane, BarbaraL, Brenda, Gina, Cheryl, Agueda, Rachel:

Nimbus Fish Hatchery (on the left) on the American River:

Upriver, Nimbus Dam and Lake Natoma:

Along the trail with the lake on the right,

high bluffs on the left and a stop to view an eagle’s nest.

Folsom Power House:

After the ride, we had lunch at Karen’s Bakery. Thank you Gina for being a great tour guide and ride leader!

Pride ride

We wanted to see what was going on, but didn’t want to deal with the crowds at the parade, so we rode to Southside Park, the staging area. Walkers were in the park, vehicles were lined up in the street.

Chickens on roller skates:

Dykes on Bikes (that’s the real name of their group) arriving. There would be hundreds in the parade.
