The Christmas Lights ride is next Saturday and I need to memorize an 8-mile winding route through neighborhoods with really good light displays. Last Monday, I rode it twice with Brenda and Paul – during daylight hours. It is not the same when it’s DARK. Tonight, I rode the route again with Brenda, Elaine, Rachel, Minerva, Rima, and David. Four of them can’t ride on Saturday so tonight was their opportunity to see some good lights.
Rockmont Circle – the best neighborhood display in N Natomas. Almost every house has an elaborate display. These pictures were taken at Java Court.
I was so glad to have company for this very cold (for California) night. I’m ready for Saturday’s ride.
Everyone here worked for the Rio Linda Union School District for most of their careers. In 2007, RLUSD merged with 3 other school districts to become Twin Rivers Unified. A very nice venue at Northridge Country Club and the food was great.
Lots of fun to see colleagues and friends. Georgene in navy sweater:

This week’s MoSAC ride started earlier than usual and our starting point was in Curtis Park. Andrea, Barbara and I rode to the zoo, then Scott’s Seafood, along the river where we discovered HUGE storage tanks of hot chocolate, to Two Rivers Trail and back to Curtis Park. Great weather today!
Yesterday morning, I went to the SABA staff meeting and learned a receptionist was needed today for a bike repair clinic at Mather Veteran’s Village.
Mather Veteran’s Village provides critically needed veteran housing with supportive services located on the former Mather Air Force base in Rancho Cordova. It provides 50 permanent supportive homes for formerly homeless and disabled veterans plus transitional housing for many more. SABA brought 15 rehabilitated bicycles to give away.
Time to celebrate all the bicycling achievements of the past year. The patio was ready to go, back gate open, bicycle parking in the garage.
Four of our group, all residents at Four Seasons Westshore, had advertising banners put up around N Natomas for a Jibe project called Wisdom Travels. At the end of a year, all the participants were given copies of their banners. If you would like to read their stories go to jibe.org/placemaking/wisdom-travels. L-R: Cathy, Ray & Donna, Amal, Laura:
