Sunday funday ride
Ride Ready Repair
Saturday afternoon at Hiram Johnson High School. A big school- and community-wide event.
I was so grateful Elaine and Terri volunteered to help out. It was quite busy at times. We took in about 30 bikes for repair and handed out free raffle tickets.
Baseball and basketball
Little League season is coming soon. Avery helped Carson and his friend Hudson get their gear ready for practice.
Immediately after, Carson had a basketball game:
At this level of beginning basketball, not every player is paying attention all the time which means a scoring opportunity for Carson. If he grabs a rebound or intercepts a pass, he will race down the court ahead of everyone and go for a lay-up which he usually makes.

I picked up Carson, Avery, and Sophia (in that order btw) after school today and we went for a fast-food snack before Sophia’s basketball game.

A very good day which started with a bike ride with Rachel, Brenda, Agueda, Maria and Yingce. By the end of the ride, I learned Yingce knows Thais, they work in similar fields. In front of a painted quilt panel honoring Wally the Walnut Tree on the Sacramento Northern Bike Trail in Rio Linda:
I was able to watch the game and commercials and sew and cook for the rest of the afternoon/evening. Potato chip nachos with grilled filet mignon and a gorgonzola chive cream sauce. Delicious!
An entertaining football game and by the end of the evening and I closed in on another finished project.

Where the quail landed
It’s always nice to see where a finished project, given as a gift, ends up in its new home. This is one wall in Adrienne’s living room. The cabinetry and electric fireplace were improvements made by her after she moved in.
To the right, I love the California poppies pillow – a gift from her daughter Aly – which made me think Ade might like the embroidered quail pillow.
