This morning, I rode toward Agueda’s house, then we rode to Jackrabbit Trail, and finally Bella Bru where we met Brenda, Paul, and Laurie for breakfast. This place is great for bicycle parking because the bikes can be parked nearby, no locking up needed.
During the month of October, if you ride a bike to a restaurant in the Jibe service area and spend $10, you will receive a $15 gift card to Raley’s/BelAir – both major grocery stores in N Natomas.
Lucky me. The person Maria planned to go this concert with had to cancel. I was the lucky person who got to take her place. Not being a gambler in any sense of the word, this was my first time inside Thunder Valley Casino. LOTS of machines, table, and people. We had to walk across the casino, first to get to Red Lantern to have dinner, then to the doors and the entrance to where the concert was located. Leaving the casino area:

at St Ignatius. Stop #1, the cafeteria where all the classes came to be picked up by attending grandparents or special friends.
Then everyone walked to attend Mass.
Three sets of brothers conspired to all sit together at Mass. L-R: Max, Grayson, Avery, Carson, Zane, Hudson, and Margaret. Max and Zane are brothers, their grandparents Lupe and Joe sat at the other end of our pew. Grayson and Hudson are brothers, Margaret is their “Oma.”
After mass, we visited the 2nd and 6th grade classrooms and signed the boys out for the day.
We all went to lunch at Leatherby’s .. which has a game room.
Today’s game was at Christian Brothers.

Parmesan risotto, salmon, squash relish – excellent of course.
Malted vanilla ice cream sundae: vanilla ice cream with chocolate mousse, cherries peanut brittle, cooke crumble, fudge sauce – beyond excellent.

On Saturday and Sunday morning, I drove to a parking structure at UCD Med Center and up to the 4th floor where barriers had been set up. Beyond the barriers, our teaching area. Becky Garrow asked if I would help with the on-bike portion of her class. We had six participants. The parking garage turned out to be perfect. There were various areas with different slopes.
Six participants learned to ride.
First step: learn to glide and balance. There are no pedals on the bike yet.

I really like taking people to the airport and picking them up – the person can leave their car parked in front of my house. In the best conditions, I can drive the roundtrip in 20 minutes. Sometimes, the person is having quite the adventure .. like going to the Eagles/Rams game on Sunday in LA and hanging out with the Fox Sports people. Cool.
Becky asked if she could help gather walnuts sometime. Sure! It’s a bit early in the gathering season. This meant, we were able to get all the walnuts from 15 trees.
Becky raked. I came behind a scooped into a laundry basket.
Later, we sorted out the debris and left just walnuts to dry for 1-2 weeks. About 35 pounds gathered. Thank you Becky. **One more picture to be added soon.
I picked up Carson from school on Tuesday and Thursday. Avery was at Sly Park with his 6th grade class. I had several bags and boxes of October decorations in the car that I decided needed a new home. I planned to stop at a donation center on the way home. Carson was very curious and asked if he could look at everything and keep it. Sure …
… but what would Mom and Dad say if he decided to keep everything? Thankfully, he chose carefully.
Sometimes we play games or throw a soft ball at something, but today Carson told me I was free to play games on my phone (lol #1) because he wanted to go online and play a game with his friend Hudson. He got started at the dining room table with a snack and his iPad. I also sat at the table. After a few minutes, Carson leaned over and whispered, “Grandma, it would be ok if you played your games over on the couch.” Is this far enough away? “Yes.” I was so laughing on the inside.
