Games

I picked up Avery and Carson after school. Everyone did their own thing for a while, then Carson decided we should play some board games. He chose four. As he chose the first one, he said, “Frozen Memory … you know I’ll win.” He’s right. But also Connect Four which I’ve beat him at more than once .. and I did this time also .. although he regretted telling me where I should drop my winning red disk. (Silently, I was belly laughing.)

He was a good sport, but .. it was time to move on to the next game, Sequence, which he quickly won.

Great Thursday afternoon entertainment.

Boys Volleyball

The championship game at Our Lady of Assumption. St Ignatius v Merryhill.

St Ignatius won! Cousin Leo is #8 in the back row.

The school sports season came to an end with this game. Avery didn’t play Little League this year. Instead he played volleyball plus two more sports. Golf:

And track and field. Long jump, shot put, 100 meters, 100-meter relay. He set a new school record in long jump.

A couple of students were ready for a trail ride. Kathy was the leader, Lennore rode sweep.

Jeff coached another person.

Joy! Sophia became an independent rider. She was so happy. So were we.

The group returned safely!

Loopalooza

In Davis always the first Sunday in May.

Lennore and I drove to Davis and parked at the train station. Our first stop was the SABA e-bike table with Rob and Hillary:

There were many stations on the 12-mile loop.

Hula dancers:

Adult Learn to Ride

This was a class for two levels of beginning riders. Lennore with an advanced beginner on a bike handling skills course.

Jeff worked with a beginner on gliding with no pedals attached:

Kathy worked with a beginner. We had to use blue duct tape to keep her wide-leg pants from getting caught in something.

Tabling at CDPH

We should have had our tables outside in front of the Department of Public Health .. except it was VERY windy so we set up in the lobby during the most active two hours around lunchtime.

CDPH has a fleet of bicycles which can be checked out.

Oh yum. This event ended at 1:30 and Zocalo was just a block away, so I picked up lunch to go afterwards.
