Hula

A new class was offered at Four Seasons Westshore on Saturday morning: hula.

Lisa, a resident, taught hula for 30 years. Her daughter and niece came to help teach the first class.

Breaking the spell

Since late January I’ve been working for Love to Ride to promote May is Bike Month. This was a job that required new skills on my part. Trying to do a reasonably competent job took root in my brain and occupied my thoughts, even when I wasn’t actually working. Or thinking I should be working. There has been no sewing. But today, I made some progress and it felt good. I fixed a zipper on a jacket and took in the side seams on some shirts for friends in Lake Wildwood.

Only the final report for Love to Ride remains. Almost to the real finish line.

Ride with Jibe

Sunday morning. Lennore and I rode to the Jibe office for a ride called Eastside Loop.

Laurie was the ride leader, Ki was the mechanic, Lori rode sweep. 22 riders!

A bathroom stop in Discovery Park.

We rode the American River Bike Trail to Northgate where we crossed over to E Levee Rd which is now a bike trail from Northgate to Sotnip Rd then becomes a barely-traveled road. It parallels Steelhead Creek. This picture, taken by Lori/sweep, is close to our left turn onto Sorento Rd.

After Party

The last day of May is Bike Month.

SABA staff “occupied” several parking spaces along R Street (across from Shady Lady) ALL day with parked vehicles paying City parking fees until about 3:30 when those spaces were transformed into pop-up tents with activities

and spaces to sit and visit to celebrate the end of the 2024 challenge.
