A quick drive up to Penn Valley for dinner with Maria and Val.
In the late evening, after the golfers had gone home, and before it got too dark, we walked across the street for a little putting contest. Val is about to sink a 25-foot putt:

It was the annual Ice Cream Social.

Thank you Shirley and Joyce for scooping ice cream with a smile.

I shared the Christmas stockings I’ve made over the years for Thais and family.

and a Butternut Squash Pie.

All Things Zucchini
Phyllis and I went to a Grange event in the afternoon.

Zucchini races:
Zucchini Sweet Contest entries. In front, my Zucchini Cakes with Walnuts, then Phyl’s Lemon Zucchini Muffins, Sandy Sanders Zucchini Bread, and Catherine Green’s Zucchini Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting.

Zucchini Savory Contest entries. The middle dish – Carmelized Zucchini and Corn – won.

In the sweet zucchini division, Catherine came in second and I came in first and won a groovy 60s apron.
