Birthday brunch

This weekend, Sophia had a birthday brunch for her friends.

It was fun to hang out in the background, help out wherever needed and watch Thais rubber-band five little ponies in specific places on Carson’s head.

Adult Learn to Ride – Monday

Our first class of the spring season. In the Bike Tech classroom at Inderkum High School, our first task is take out tightly-packed bikes, air up the tires, and take off all the pedals. A busy 45 minutes before people start arriving.

Part 1: gliding and balancing.

One person left early, kind of gave up quickly because it was too difficult. Almost everyone had two pedals on by the end. One man used to be a good bike rider, but he’d had a stroke five years ago, he really wanted to relearn and he did? A few will come back for the next class on Wednesday.

Teaching this class is a heart-warming experience. Kathy, Lennore and Christy are great to work with. Of course, Anya from Jibe is always a big help.

Party Pardee

I drove up to Ione Saturday morning and began the 70km route at about 8:30.

First rest stop:

My top speed on a downhill on a very smooth road was 40 mph. Some roads, on the other hand, were quite rough.

Pardee Reservoir:

46 miles – whew! a long ride. Thank you e-bike.

Volleyball

Avery had a volleyball game this evening and it was a bit of a rout. In fact when the other team scored their first point late in the first set, the entire room clapped. Thais and I joked it took longer for me to drive one way to the game than the game itself.

Baseball

Only one parent available to get three children to three different locations at almost the same time. Grandma to the rescue. I took Avery to Ciavarella Park at 4:00 for pre-game practice followed by a 5:00 game.

B St Theatre

Terri and I parked near the theater and walked to Obo for lunch before the play.

Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense. Sometimes I don’t appreciate a play until a couple of days later. This time, the skill of three actors performing so many different roles was pretty amazing even though I had a hard time following the story line. And I didn’t know Jeeves and Wooster was a British tv series in the early 1990s.
