A stare-down for the final bites of a burrito. When I asked Carson to hang on while I grabbed my phone to take a picture, he wanted to know why I wanted this particular picture. I told him about the blog, that I like to post funny things that happen when I come over. This stare-down was today’s funny moment.

Later, “Hey Grandma, take a picture of this. Put it on your blog.”

Oh yes, very funny. My loss in the game Memory.

Ragtime

Terri was unable to go with her daughter Sarah to the Music Circus. Lucky me, I was able to fill in for her. We arrived just in time for a beverage before the curtain went up.

Great show.

Walk the Talk

This morning I was the invited guest of Councilmember Lisa Kaplan’s Walk the Talk at N Natomas Regional Park.

Many thanks to bicycling friends who showed up to show support: Brenda, Laurie, Cheryl, Kathy, Dani, Christa, Rachel, BarbaraL.

When I came into the house, I found two boys in their respective caves. Sophia had a babysitting job. Avery was in his room, Carson was … where?

Thank you, Mom and Dad, for your patience later this afternoon when you come home to this creation.

Question of the day from Carson: “Grandma, how old were you when you kissed a boy the first time?”

FSPL Bike Tour of District 5

This was the first Friends of the Sacramento Public Library bike tour and very well organized by BarbaraL. We met at the N Natomas branch at 9 am.

Our first stop: Rio Linda library, which happens to be housed in my old 4th grade classroom.

KCRA Channel 3 sent out a cameraman/reporter.

Library #3: Del Paso Heights where the only 24-hour library lending kiosk in Northern California.

Friends volunteers shared their stories about their branch while KCRA filmed.

Next, N Sacramento/Hagginwood branch:

Library #5 was South Natomas.

Every library was unique and offered something special to the people who visit.

BarbaraL did a great job organizing this ride.

25 miles and HOT by the end of the ride. Nevertheless, a lot of fun. Here’s the link to the news segment on Saturday evening:
