Friday afternoon, I drove to Old Greenwood to spend the night with Maria and Tim plus their weekend guests, Hans and Kathy, Penelope and Brad. Fun people, great evening.

Thursday and Friday at Natomas Park Elementary – NPE. Early arrival time – 7:15, two fifth-grade classes each day. Before helmet-fitting, a couple of videos.

While Gina, Jeff and I individually fit helmets, everyone else worked on a bike parts worksheet.

After school on Thursday, BarbaraL and I did a one-hour coaching session for non-riders. Success for the one student who showed up at 2:00.

Mine – #76. Being a terrible shopper, I decided to change my ways for an hour or so and go on a shopping spree at Macy’s. In the afternoon, I asserted my special day by deciding where Avery, Carson and I would go after I picked them up from school – Baskin-Robbins! In the evening, I went to dinner at Terri’s. Elaine picked up dinner. Terri made margaritas. Good friends + dessert!

Beyond all that goodness were cards and texts. I am so grateful to all my friends and family. Love you all.

The end. Today is my birthday and I decided to give myself a gift called One Less Thing To Do. This will be the final post called Your Bike Rides This Week. Thank you everyone for understanding.
The final Adult Learn to Ride class until next spring. We had 5 participants. I’m so proud of our team. Lennore encouraging and giving coaching tips for part 1 – balance and gliding. Pedals have been removed.

Kathy showing how to change gears. Inderkum High School cheerleaders practicing in the background.

Pedals are added one at a time.

Success! All five learned to ride within one hour, then practiced riding and turning for the final 30 minutes.

Feeling better this week, I was able to get back to some regular activities. Working for Love to Ride to promote Biketober for a couple of hours/day. SABA staff meeting on Tuesday morning. On Wednesday, ride leaders from Jibe’s Navigate Natomas got together to see where community bike rides could go from here.

Thursday evening, Sacramento County Bicycle Advisory Committee meeting.

Saturday, Jibe’s Electric Ride and Drive Expo at N Natomas Regional Park.

What did I do this past week? After the ride across the Golden Gate, I has a sore throat. But Monday it was a full-blown cold. Ugh. On the mend a week later. About 95% today .. and well enough to do an after-school coaching session for Project Ride Smart at NP3 (Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep) – a 5-minute walk from my house.

Unfortunately, the temps were in the high 90s and running around on the even hotter blacktop was not good.
