January 1 bike ride

Even though rain was predicted, I led a Jibe ride on New Year’s Day. The first surprise was a photojournalist from KOVR Channel 13 was at the meet-up location at Peregrine Park. He interviewed me and Jim. There was a clip on the evening news!

Eight of us started out but a low battery and a flat tire shortly into the ride caused two people to drop out early. We had rain at the beginning and end but a good dry middle section.

My rain cape worked really well. 34 miles. A good start to a new year.

Christmas Eve dinner

at Kral’s. Jeff makes the best prime rib roast. There was a theme this year for the del Castillos:

Waiting for the adults to give the GO signal .. everyone on their own device.

I escaped before the chaos of gift opening began – lol. Great evening, lots of visiting, excellent meal!

Christmas Eve breakfast

at my house. Despite what it looks like, everyone was smiling and laughing.

Not much to do at Grandma’s house. I did appreciate help with a particularly challenging jigsaw puzzle: except for the edge pieces, all the pieces are the same shape with only the tiniest variations.

Christmas program

at St Ignatius. I went to the 9:30a performance.

3rd and 4th grades don’t have buddy classes, they form the choir for school year.

Buddy classes: 8th and 2nd. Every group sings two songs, one is a traditional carol.
