Adult Learn to Ride

This was a class for two levels of beginning riders. Lennore with an advanced beginner on a bike handling skills course.

Jeff worked with a beginner on gliding with no pedals attached:

Kathy worked with a beginner. We had to use blue duct tape to keep her wide-leg pants from getting caught in something.

Tabling at CDPH

We should have had our tables outside in front of the Department of Public Health .. except it was VERY windy so we set up in the lobby during the most active two hours around lunchtime.

CDPH has a fleet of bicycles which can be checked out.

Oh yum. This event ended at 1:30 and Zocalo was just a block away, so I picked up lunch to go afterwards.

CSUS for MiBM

Early Thursday morning at Sac State.

Our tabling location on campus.

The City of Sacramento Transportation Planning Department had a table. Lee and I were promoting May is Bike Month and encouraging people to sign up. Also promoting MiBM was UTAPS – University Transportation and Parking Services.

A good place for a field trip group photo:

State of Natomas

Jibe invited me to attend this annual event sponsored by the Natomas Chamber of Commerce.

Commissioners in District 1. Odet Ford/Parks, Councilmember Lisa Kaplan, me/Active Transportation, Wellington Smith/Arts:

Many speakers including State Assemblyman Kevin McCarty:

and many more. Thank you Jibe for inviting me. Always a fun and informative event.

Wellness Fair

John F Kennedy High School Wellness Fair on Monday morning. Many tents set up on the track.

Pierson and I were promoting May is Bike Month. 1700 students in two one-hour batches. We actually got a lot of people to sign up. Pierson is an excellent “barker”.

The only downside was being located right in front of the – loud – DJ.
