Lennore is going to lead her first ride for Jibe in a couple of weeks. This morning, Brenda and I rode with her to see what the N Natomas Garden Challenge route is like. Discovered: westbound traffic is blocked for a short section on Garden Highway. Good for our direction. Not good if cars back up behind the group. .

Lunch with a friend, Becky.
Cheryl, BarbaraB, BarbaraL and I rode to the Sacramento Amtrak station and took an early train to Richmond.
It was a 1 1/2-hour train ride, but it went by quickly. It was easy getting from the train to the starting point of the ride. A short distance to the Richmond Greenway, then well-marked and protected bikeways which led to accessing the bridge.
5.5 miles long, about 184 feet of climbing in a dedicated lane for two-way traffic on the top deck.

On the San Rafael side, it was easy and safe to navigate Sir Francis Drake Blvd as we made our way to Larkspur Landing for lunch.
Back to the train, which was typically late, and a ride back to N Natomas. A 40-mile day with three long rest breaks.
Sunday morning, Kimberly, Lennore and I met Brenda and Galib at Peregrine Park and rode to Treehouse Cafe in W Sacramento.
Pierson did a great job of leading the ride.
There’s a new bridge over I-80 which connects to the Sycamore Trail. Amazing – there were 50+ people on this ride.

29 miles by the time I got home. The weather has been great for riding.
Kimberly, who lives in Dixon, drove to my house where we started our ride. Next stop, about a 1/2 mile away, Lennore’s garage. Then we rode to the Jibe office and met everyone else in the parking lot.

Thank you Jibe for buying everyone an ice cream cone at Handel’s. The small scoops were huge, and delicious. Many flavor choices.

Crab cakes (omg – the best ever) with homemade tartar sauce and Cilantro lime chicken with chips:
and more baseball. All Stars continued – a good way to do it – many games, many opportunities to play against other skilled players and teams. Eventually, the road ends, just one team moves on. Monday the 16th:

And Wednesday was the end of the road for the River Park team.
Lennore organized a ride that started in the small town of El Dorado, went through Placerville, and ended near Camino.

The end of the paved trail. There’s about 3/4 mile more dirt trail ahead. Long-range plans (not in my lifetime) include a trail all the way to the Nevada border. That would be so cool.

I had brunch this morning with Tina who was my Phase 3 student teacher at Westside Charter School many many years ago. She has been a staff member at Creative Connections Art Academy for the past 20 years or so. It was so great to catch up.
