Saturday: ride 2

The second Jibe ride of the day began in the early evening. There was a S Natomas Festival at a park about 7 miles away.

Bike valet by SABA – free secure bike parking – yay!

I stood in line at a food truck for 15 minutes with no movement forward so abandoned the idea of having dinner there .. walked around for at least 30 minutes, and decided to leave. Amazingly the food line had still not moved, good decision to ride back to our neighborhood and pick up some takeout on the way home. 13 additional miles for today, 37 miles total.

Saturday: ride 1

At the last minute, I was able to join the Jibe ride to Midtown Farmers Market. We met in front of the Jibe office.

This market is takes up several blocks. We didn’t have much time to walk around and see everything. Several interesting international food offerings.

Great ride. 23 miles.

Bike Patrol

Jibe hosted a meeting with the American River Bike Patrol at CharQterie on Wednesday. Bike Patrol is hoping to recruit new people to join, get trained and offer assistance on Natomas trails.

Peak Adventures

Wednesday morning, I had a meeting at Peak Adventures on the CSUS campus.

The staff was curious about the ways in which Peak Adventures and SABA could work together. Perhaps classes for students at CSUS who want to learn how to ride a bike. Sure, SABA can do that.

Tahoe bike ride

On Saturday, 8 of us met at Olympic Valley Park for an all-trail ride. There were 7 riders: Brenda, Laurie, Maria, Kimberly, BarbaraL, me, Lennore. Kimberly’s daughter took the picture, she was also our SAG.

South toward Tahoe City. Truckee River:

South of Tahoe City:

Meeks Bay Resort, our turn-around point. The beach was very crowded.

There’s a bit of a climb out of Meeks Bay.

Lunch at Bridgetender:

35-mile ride with great friends and beautiful scenery.

Final week before school starts

School starts next week. Sophia will be a junior at Christian Brothers. Avery-8th and Carson-4th at St Ignatius. In between the boys going fishing in the morning and Sophia’s volleyball tryouts in the late afternoon .. Grandma! Charlie is always in the middle of whatever was going and sometimes it makes him look like a wheelchair dog.

Lunch at Zócalo.

Sunday bike ride

Thank you Lennore for organizing a bike ride for the beginners we’ve taught how to ride a bike. Uugii learned at Jibe’s Learn to Ride. Erin came to a recent SABA Learn 2 Ride class at REI, she’s also a friend of Lennore’s.

Lennore is an excellent instructor and a great mentor for new riders.
