Grandma hobbies

Apparently a trend on social media — to enhance well-being and improve mental health, learn how to do and enjoy the following:

I do 75% of the activities on this list. No wonder my well-being is so healthy – lol. Two batches of Bavarian pretzels. Lower right = too dark, wrong recipe and not enough salt.

T-shirts are always too long and need to be shortened – might as well hem with embroidery:

Venice … I need to put this city on my bucket list.

Super Bowl ride

I’m leading a Jibe ride next Saturday to the Sacramento Zoo. Today I did a pre-ride with Maria, Agueda and Galib.

Because of our recent very good rainfall, Discovery Park was closed, and will be for some time to come. Instead we rode along Garden Highway to Northgate Blvd, crossed the American River on the Pipes Bridge, and arrived at 19th and C Sts. 19th St now has a separated bike lane from C St to Broadway and is quite nice to ride.

The water in the Sacramento River was quite high. More rain predicted for next Thursday and Friday.

Great ride. 32 miles for me.

The White Chip

Because it’s Super Bowl weekend, today I wore my only football-related sweatshirt – Saskatchewan Roughriders – when Terri and I went to brunch and then a play. When we walked into Paragary’s, a man sitting nearby called out “Hey Roughy” and we struck up a conversation. He was from Winnepeg Manitoba – home of the Blue Bombers.

The White Chip – one man’s journey to sobriety – a very good play.
