Laurie and I went to the Museum of Science and Curiosity this evening to see the latest developments re a bridge over the American River from Truxel Rd to downtown Sacramento. When completed, it would add another transportation corridor for residents of South and North Natomas.

There were seven stations where you could look at plans, give feedback and ask questions. Available were consultants and City staff.

This event was well-attended (beyond what these pictures depict) which was a surprise actually. Many questions on charts and comment cards asked why the bridge wasn’t limited to bikes, pedestrians, and public transit.

The Truxel bridge has been a project for 20 years already and zero dollars have been secured to even go to the next step. But, IF everything went in a positive direction from now on, optimistically, construction could begin in 2039. I will be 91 .. and still riding my bike?
