Brenda! We met at Más Fuego for happy hour. Brenda’s mom, Laurie and Lori. I hobbled in on my bad ankle but it was so worth it.

Tuesday and Wednesday. BarbaraL and I met at 6:45 am to ride and rode 3 miles to Natomas Park Elementary. We were nearing the end of our time at NPE, time for the best part – street rides. BarbaraL and I worked with the Blue group – they had excellent bike-riding skills. Two left-hand turns across busy N Bend Dr and they had to complete the turns as individuals.

This was the second class of the day on Wednesday getting their jerseys and helmets on to go out for their first street ride. However .. I did not go with them. While teaching the first class, I stepped in a grass-covered hole and turned my ankle. I was able to ride back to school, but it was not safe for me to go out with the second class. Darn. Gina quickly put an ice pack on my ankle.

While everyone went out for their ride, I texted friends to find someone who could pick up me and my bike – thank you Cheryl.
On Sunday morning, several of us drove to the Larkspur Ferry Terminal, arriving in time to take the 10 am ferry to San Francisco.

San Quentin:

At Ft Point. Brenda in front, me, Lori , BarbaraL, Laurie:

The Golden Gate Bridge from a viewpoint on the ocean side. Note the suicide nets.

On to Sausalito for lunch, then Tiburon, back to the Larkspur Ferry parking lot and home. Great day with great friends. 34-mile ride.
Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates – SABA – held its almost-annual Velo Ball tonight. I was gifted a couple of free tickets and – yay – BarbaraL and Laurie came along.

Bike valet:

Jeremiah, Julie, and Fayzah welcomed everyone.

Deb Banks, Executive Director of SABA:

I received the Good Wheel Award. I was truly shocked.

Great event. So much fun!

Mass at 10 am.

Afterwards, we visited classrooms. Avery, 7th grade. This class works at tables, students have a cubby to keep their books and supplies.

Carson, 3rd grade.

I was able to check out the boys early and we went to lunch at their chosen restaurant: Chick-fil-A. A couple of their friends came with us, Grayson and Hudson.

I marvel at the positions Carson and Avery find comfortable for extended game playing. Carson is actually playing online with two friends, Hudson and Zane.

at Natomas Park Elementary. This week, two days of blacktop drills. Before doing any riding, ABCQuick Check including adjusting the seat height

Monday and Tuesday: ride in the right lane position, use hand signals.
