Maria, Laurie, Rosalyn, Jane, me, Cheryl, BarbaraL, Lorge and Brenda:

On the way back, a brief stop at Salle Family Orchards.

Fun group of people to ride with! 32 miles in great weather.

Rail Explorers

To celebrate two September birthdays (Justin and me), Thais and Lenin arranged for a new experience – Rail Explorers in Amador County, near Ione.

Cars hold four people or two. Everyone pedals, the right rear person pedals the electric assist and controls the brake.

There was a short break after 4 miles while all the cars were turned around.

What a great experience to do together as a family.

Ride at Lake Tahoe

On Saturday morning, I met Brenda, Laurie, Lori, Maria, and Sheila at Olympic Valley Park in Olympic Valley. We rode the Truckee River Trail to Tahoe City

then south along the west shore of Lake Tahoe.

There was a great descent to Meeks Bay Resort, our turn-around point.

Back to Tahoe City where we stopped for a late lunch at Bridgetender Tavern. A different view of the Truckee River on the short ride to where we’d parked.

What a great ride! 35 miles. Me, Brenda, Lori, Laurie, Maria, Sheila:

Project Ride Smart

Thursday and Friday at Natomas Park Elementary – NPE. Early arrival time – 7:15, two fifth-grade classes each day. Before helmet-fitting, a couple of videos.

While Gina, Jeff and I individually fit helmets, everyone else worked on a bike parts worksheet.

After school on Thursday, BarbaraL and I did a one-hour coaching session for non-riders. Success for the one student who showed up at 2:00.
