Robert from SABA emailed last night and asked if I was available to do intake for Bike Doc on Saturday morning at nearby Blackbird Park. Yes and a very short walk from my house.

We met early Friday evening at Jeanne’s garage near Two Rivers Elementary. Evret is the project Jr Leader. He races mountain bikes. Tonight he demonstrated how to fix a flat tire.

I led a short but exciting bike ride for 12 people to a nearby ice cream shop. My #1 priority: keeping everyone safe. We had to go straight through a busy round-about and cross a busy street. Everything went smoothly. Evret’s dad and I watched the bikes while everyone else ordered ice cream.

Terrific to have so many parents come along on the ride.

I picked up Avery and Carson after school. Everyone did their own thing for a while, then Carson decided we should play some board games. He chose four. As he chose the first one, he said, “Frozen Memory … you know I’ll win.” He’s right. But also Connect Four which I’ve beat him at more than once .. and I did this time also .. although he regretted telling me where I should drop my winning red disk. (Silently, I was belly laughing.)

He was a good sport, but .. it was time to move on to the next game, Sequence, which he quickly won.

Great Thursday afternoon entertainment.
The championship game at Our Lady of Assumption. St Ignatius v Merryhill.

St Ignatius won! Cousin Leo is #8 in the back row.

The school sports season came to an end with this game. Avery didn’t play Little League this year. Instead he played volleyball plus two more sports. Golf:

And track and field. Long jump, shot put, 100 meters, 100-meter relay. He set a new school record in long jump.
