Ride across the Golden Gate Bridge

Seven of us drove to the Larkspur Ferry Terminal to take the 10 am ferry to San Francisco. Note: thank you Brenda for taking about half of the following pictures.

Approaching the San Francisco Ferry Terminal:

From the stern, Treasure Island and the Bay Bridge:

Excellent riding along The Embarcadero – much better than being in a car.

After the first big climb, a view of the Marina District. In the distance, our next stop was at the left edge of the Golden Gate at the water’s edge under the arch.

At Fort Point: Brenda, Leo, Cheryl, Charlie, Becky, CherylB. We backtracked slightly to begin the climb to the ocean side of the bridge – reserved for cyclists on the weekends.

That’s me up ahead. Time to slow down, pay attention, and be patient. Some riders are fast and confident, others are wobbly tourists on rented bikes. Blind corners up ahead when going around the pillars.

Sausalito, our lunch stop:

Downtown Tiburon:

More climbing. Paradise Cay:

Across from the Larkspur Ferry Terminal, was a bike/ped bridge to a great place to celebrate a great ride before driving back to Sacramento.

34 miles and Brenda successfully managed her battery use and finished the ride with power. On the last GGB ride, she ran out of power with 3 miles to go; thankfully it was flat.
