A Country Christmas

Dani is a great bicyclist, she rides every day she can and her name is always on the ride schedule. Tonight I learned she has another amazing talent: southern gospel singer. And she’s really good!

Lol, this is the first time I’ve see Dani in something other than bike clothes. I went with Terri and Cindy. Toni also sat with us, she lives in our neighborhood but was also one of Dani’s high school teachers.

Kathy played a mean tambourine. Kathy used to be a drummer … and a bike racer. Talent all around.

Christmas program

This morning I went to the daytime presentation at St Ignatius. Avery’s class sang with their 2nd grade buddies.

Carson’s 1st grade sang with their 7th grade buddies:

Sophia’s 8th grade class sang with their 1st grade buddies:

Practice ride

The Christmas Lights ride is next Saturday and I need to memorize an 8-mile winding route through neighborhoods with really good light displays. Last Monday, I rode it twice with Brenda and Paul – during daylight hours. It is not the same when it’s DARK. Tonight, I rode the route again with Brenda, Elaine, Rachel, Minerva, Rima, and David. Four of them can’t ride on Saturday so tonight was their opportunity to see some good lights.

Rockmont Circle – the best neighborhood display in N Natomas. Almost every house has an elaborate display. These pictures were taken at Java Court.

I was so glad to have company for this very cold (for California) night. I’m ready for Saturday’s ride.

Retired teachers luncheon

Everyone here worked for the Rio Linda Union School District for most of their careers. In 2007, RLUSD merged with 3 other school districts to become Twin Rivers Unified. A very nice venue at Northridge Country Club and the food was great.

Lots of fun to see colleagues and friends. Georgene in navy sweater:

Christmas party

Even better than going to a Christmas party is getting to be with Sophia, Avery and Carson while their mom and dad go to one.

Friday night is game board night. First up, Parcheesi:

Then we picked up Sophia from volleyball practice.

A few games of Chutes and Ladders. Guess who got the number he wanted to roll?
