Out and about

We had breakfast at the only place in town, or at least the only place where locals gather. We asked where else a person might find a good breakfast, but were met with blank stares. We shopped downtown in the morning. This is Bulldog country for sure.In the afternoon, we went to the movies. We saw Winchester on Saturday – scary! – my eyes were closed for about 1/4 of the movie.

Testing in TRUSD

ELPAC – English Language Proficiency Assessment for California – is the new test given to all students whose first language is not English. The previous test (CELDT) was given at the beginning of the school year but the ELPAC testing window is Feb-May. Twin Rivers Unified School District started on the first possible day of testing. We received two half-days of training in January. We are testing all TK, Kindergarten, and first graders one-on-one. The test takes about an hour so each of us can only get 4-5 tests done each day. I am working on the best team – with Adrienne and Linda.

Super Bowl

My favorite way to enjoy the Super Bowl is by myself with a great snack. This year, Totchos. Essentially fully-loaded nachos over tater tots instead of chips. Yum!Thanks to friends and family to invited me to a Super Bowl party and understood when I declined. And thanks to those who didn’t invite me because they knew better. Love you all!
